Foyer API
Connect Claude or ChatGPT
The Foyer connector lets Claude, ChatGPT and other assistants that support MCP (the Model Context Protocol) read your calls and voicemail when you ask. You sign in with your Foyer account and approve what the assistant may see. There is no key to copy.
What you can ask
Once connected, ask in your own words. For example:
- "What calls did I miss today?"
- "Did anyone leave a voicemail about the roof?"
- "What did the caller from Dr. Patel's office want?"
- "Who called more than once this week?"
- "Is anything waiting for my review?"
- On Concierge or Chief of Staff, if you allow changes: "Let calls from +1 617 555 0142 ring straight through" or "Pause screening for an hour."
The assistant answers from your Foyer account using the same endpoints as the REST API: your calls, voicemails, the review queue, search, contacts, numbers and settings.
Connect
The connector address: https://api.hifoyer.com/mcp
In Claude (claude.ai or the Claude apps):
- Open Settings › Connectors and add a custom connector.
- Name it "Foyer" and paste the connector address.
- Choose Connect. Foyer asks you to sign in.
- Approve what Claude may see. You can leave out recordings, or anything that changes settings.
In ChatGPT:
- Open Settings and find connectors (apps).
- Add a connector with the Foyer address.
- Sign in with your Foyer account and approve what ChatGPT may see.
Other assistants: any client that supports remote MCP servers with OAuth sign-in can use the same address.
Permissions and safety
- You choose what it sees. The consent screen shows the same permissions as API keys, in plain words: see your calls, read conversations and voicemail text, listen to recordings, change how Foyer treats callers, change your settings. Recordings are off unless you tick them. See Authentication and permissions.
- Plan rules apply. Every plan can read. Changes need Concierge or Chief of Staff.
- Short-lived sign-in. The assistant gets short-lived tokens that renew while you stay connected. Disconnect it from Connected apps at any time.
- Activity is logged. Connected apps shows what each assistant read.
- Limits apply. The connector shares your limits with your keys.
Once your calls reach Claude or ChatGPT, that service's own terms and privacy policy apply to them. See Privacy.
Without the connector
Assistants that run code, such as Claude Code, ChatGPT with code tools, or your own agent, can call the REST API directly with a key. Give the assistant the OpenAPI spec or llms-full.txt and a key from Settings › Connected apps, stored where the assistant can read it but you do not paste it into chats you share.
